After their respective studies, their related professional experiences, and a brief period working abroad, they both decided to remain in Sicily, a land filled with vast potential to discover.
Historically being a land of exchange between different cultures and a metaphor of strong contradictions, this island offers the chance of an always new approach to the project and exudes constant research, with roots going down in its embedded tradition.
The planning approach is geared towards exposing the essence of the locations, an archeological process of subtraction, with which the project from time to time it’s related to, establishing rules that are always new but never daunting. An architecture lacking the doubt of time.
Throughout the years, studioGUM has shared artistic and professional bonds, not only related to the territory but also beyond the island’s borders.
Their projects have appeared in Italian and international books and magazines, such as Living, Platform, Progetti, LetteraVentidue, l’Arca, Wallpaper, Elle Décor, Vogue, AD, Ideat, Gestalten DE.
